Family Policy Committee (13 members)
I. Initiative Function
- acts as an initiator and co-author in the development and implementation of the Family Policy Concept of the Statutory City of Ostrava,
- acts as an initiator and co-author of conceptual materials in the field of family policy and participates in their implementation within its capacities,
- initiates and supports pro-family activities within the territory of the Statutory City of Ostrava,
- supports the activities of non-governmental and non-profit organizations in the field of pro-family initiatives,
- supports the work of any working groups established by the Department of Social Affairs and Healthcare of the City Hall to implement the Family Policy Concept,participates in community planning of social services and related activities in Ostrava in the area of pro-family activities and family policy,
- submits initiative proposals to the City Council concerning pro-family activities within the city,
- monitors the activities of institutions and bodies involved in pro-family initiatives in Ostrava and participates in their implementation within its capacities,
- keeps up to date with new legislation related to children and youth, as well as new trends in family policy and pro-family activities,
- contributes to creating favorable conditions for families with children in Ostrava,
- continuously monitors and evaluates issues related to the use of leisure time by children, youth, and seniors,
- initiates protection of the existing potential of the city and its districts in non-profit organizations and institutions offering leisure
- time activities for children, youth, or seniors,
- initiates support for activities in the area of leisure-time activities for children, youth, or seniors by:
- providing methodological assistance to entities, associations, and institutions engaged in leisure-time activities for children, youth, or seniors,
- supporting selected activities or events organized by associations, clubs, and institutions in the area of leisure-time activities for children, youth, or seniors,
- supporting selected events that attract new participants for continuous and regular engagement,
- reviews and submits to the City Council rules for competitive procedures for awarding grants and contributions in the field of leisure-time activities for children, youth, or seniors,
- reviews and submits to the City Council rules for competitive procedures for awarding grants and contributions in the area of family policy,
- reviews and submits to city authorities requests for financial support from the Statutory City of Ostrava budget in the area of leisure-time activities for children, youth, or seniors,
- reviews and submits to city authorities requests for financial support from the Statutory City of Ostrava budget in the area of family policy.
II. Supervisory Function
- within the scope determined by the City Council,
- participates in events supported under pro-family activities and leisure-time activities for children, youth, or seniors in Ostrava.
III. Organizational Matters
Organizational, technical, and administrative tasks related to the committee’s activities are ensured by the City Hall’s Department of Social Affairs and Healthcare.
