Committee for Security and the Integrated Rescue System (15 members)

I. Initiative Function

  1. continuously provides opinions on the current security situation in the city; if necessary, it reviews extraordinary events handled by the Integrated Rescue System (IRS) and initiates appropriate measures,
  2. proactively prepares, discusses, and submits to the City Council opinions and proposals concerning security (particularly crime levels and public order, fire safety, and civil protection) and the Integrated Rescue System,
  3. reviews applications for grants from the Fund for Strengthening Public Order, Security, and the Protection of Persons and Property and submits its opinion to the City Council,
  4. reviews the development concept of the activities of the individual components of the Integrated Rescue System and the status of the camera surveillance system in the Statutory City of Ostrava, taking into account its use for security purposes; where necessary, it initiates proposals for improvement,
  5. provides opinions on proposals for the sale of existing equipment and the purchase of new equipment for the components of the Integrated Rescue System in relation to the budget of the Statutory City of Ostrava,
  6. evaluates proposals for measures to protect life and health, property, and public order,
  7. cooperates with other City Council committees, particularly in the area of prevention and road safety (BESIP),
  8. performs tasks in the area of security and the Integrated Rescue System assigned to it by the City Council.

II. Supervisory Function

  1. within the scope determined by the City Council.

III. Organizational Matters

Organizational, technical, and administrative tasks related to the activities of the committee are ensured by the Mayor’s Office Department of the City Hall.
