Department responsible for:
It ensures the execution of activities in the field of the city’s social policy.
It plans, coordinates, and implements the development of:
- social services in Ostrava
- crime prevention and drug prevention
- social inclusion
- family policy and leisure activities
- healthcare
It ensures the provision of:
- social and legal protection of children, including social work and social guardianship for children and youth
- social work and social guardianship for adults
It coordinates the process of selection procedures for the provision of subsidies from the city budget and the allocation of transfers from the city budget in its areas of competence.
By authorization of the City Council, it monitors the fulfilment of tasks related to the activities of contributory organizations.
It ensures the operation of:
- the Housing Contact Point
- the first-contact centre SOCIOPOINT
In cooperation with city districts, commissions of the City Council, and other cooperating entities, it prepares strategic documents in its areas of competence.
