Shreveport – the city where Elvis Presley’s career began

Shreveport, the second transatlantic partner city of Ostrava, is located in the state of Louisiana on the right bank of the Red River. If you're wondering why it's called "Red," it's because the river is actually red, due to the high content of clayey sediments that flow into the river from the surrounding areas. The Red River played a crucial role, especially in the past, in the development of the city as a transportation and commercial center of Louisiana.
