Department responsible for:
The Department of Internal Affairs ensures the issuance of identity cards and travel documents. It performs tasks in the area of population registration and manages the agenda of registry offices and selected misdemeanors.
It also carries out tasks arising from the right of assembly and electoral law, including local referendums, as well as tasks related to the naming of streets and public spaces. It prepares generally binding ordinances in the field of public order for the city authorities.
The department serves as an assisted contact point for citizens with public administration, the so-called CzechPOINT. It issues certified outputs from public administration information systems, and its employees verify copies of documents and the authenticity of signatures.
Furthermore, the department provides a range of activities of the information services center, including the administration of the official notice board, the operation of the municipality’s document management system, and the reception desk.
For a significant part of the above-mentioned activities, it also performs supervisory and methodological functions.
