The Slovak Ambassador has visited Ostrava
The Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in the Czech Republic, Her Excellency Ingrid Brocková, recently visited Ostrava, where she was welcomed by the Mayor Jan Dohnal at the New City Hall. The Ambassador is an experienced diplomat who has previously represented Slovakia in the OECD. She was keen to discuss a range of regional and national-level issues.

In discussions with the Mayor, the Ambassador agreed that mutual relations between Czechs and Slovaks remain excellent. The discussion also touched on Ostrava's development following its post-industrial transformation, including comparisons with some Slovak cities. Another key topic was public transport – an area in which Ostrava ranks among the leading Czech cities. The Ambassador was also keen to discuss questions connected with education and tourism. She expressed enthusiasm for Ostrava's new image – including its distinctive logo – and admiration for attractions such as the industrial heritage site at Lower Vítkovice.
The Ambassador also spoke about the upcoming World Ice Hockey Championship, as the Slovak national team will be playing its Group B games in the Ostrava Arena.
The visit took place in an amicable, relaxed atmosphere, and before her departure the Ambassador signed the official visitors' book.
