This year, all proceeds from the charity raffle were donated to the Chaloupka Family and Community Centre in Ostrava.

The ball was officially opened in the presence of city representatives – Mayor Jan Dohnal and Deputy Mayor Lucie Baránková Vilamová – in the beautiful representative premises of the Clarion Congress Hotel in Ostrava.

Ostrava councillor Markéta Langrová also came to dance

“The second edition of the Ostrava Ball has once again confirmed that this newly established tradition has secured its place in our city – it brings together Ostrava residents across generations and creates space for meeting and entertainment. An added value is the charitable dimension of the event. Visitor interest was exceptional, and the entire evening was accompanied by a wonderful atmosphere full of music and dance. The theme of the ball – Relationships Between People – also highlighted the city of Ostrava’s connection and sensitivity to its residents, its ability to listen to them and help. Allow me also to thank everyone who participated in organizing this exceptional social event. The programme was truly diverse, allowing every guest to enjoy the evening according to their taste,” said Mayor Jan Dohnal.

The main star of the evening was the band Mirai

The rich programme offered plenty of entertainment for everyone. The main star of the evening was the band Mirai, whose energetic performance got the entire hall dancing. Guests could also enjoy concerts across various genres. Well-known covers were performed by Galia Brothers with B&M Duo, each in their own original style. Visitors were welcomed in the foyer by Hladnov Rock Choir and the Lattetia string quartet. Dance performances by the Janáček Conservatory and a dance studio based in Ostrava-Poruba were also part of the programme. Guests even had the opportunity to learn the Dominican dance bachata during a workshop led by instructors from a local dance studio. The popular DJ Lumír Mořkovský ensured lively entertainment throughout the evening and kept the dance floor full.

The tombola helped a good cause

A highlight of the evening was the charity raffle draw, with proceeds going to the Chaloupka Family and Community Centre. The funds will be used to equip a children’s playroom, creating a safe and stimulating space for activities and family gatherings.

Everyone had a splendid time

According to Deputy Mayor Lucie Baránková Vilamová, the second edition of the ball was once again an exceptional social event for the city of Ostrava, not only due to its wonderful atmosphere but especially thanks to its charitable impact. “This year, we supported the Chaloupka Family and Community Centre. Visitors could contribute by purchasing raffle tickets or donating any amount to a transparent public fundraising account. Thanks to the generosity of our guests, a total of CZK 141,425 was raised. We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed. At the same time, I would like to remind you that the fundraising campaign for the Chaloupka Centre will continue until the end of March. If you were unable to attend the ball but would still like to contribute, you can do so by sending a donation to account number 13101572/0800.”

Everyone found something to enjoy in the accompanying programme

The smooth running of the evening was ensured by the experienced hosting duo Monika Dudová and Radek Erben, who guided guests through the entire programme. There were also many accompanying activities, such as a popular photo booth and caricature artists. Students from the Secondary School of Services and Entrepreneurship also presented a photo exhibition of the Chaloupka Family Centre. In front of the hotel, visitors could watch a projection of the winning films from the TrikFilm festival.

The Ostrava Ball was held with the support of partners, to whom we would like to express our sincere thanks for their generosity, willingness, and trust.
