Sixteen teams, qualifying through continental competitions, will participate in the World Championship, and they now know their opponents for this major event.

The draw was conducted by Czech national team legend and record holder Eliška Krupnová, General Secretary of the 2025 World Championship Petr Chvojka, IFF General Secretary John Liljelund, Mayor of Ostrava Jan Dohnal, Head of the Sports Department of the Brno City Authority Martin Jelínek, and Deputy Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region Jan Veřmiřovský.

The event was opened with a speech by IFF President Filip Šuman. Other speakers included Czech Floorball President Daniel Novák and the most productive player of the Czech Extraliga and national team member Karolína Klubalová.

The first groups drawn were C and D. Afterward, the elite groups were selected. As in 2021, the Czech team will face Switzerland, along with Latvia and Denmark, who eliminated them in the quarterfinals in Singapore. The second group will feature both Scandinavian teams, and we can look forward to an exciting match between neighboring teams Slovakia and Poland.

The Women’s World Championship will be held in the Czech Republic for the second time, returning to the same cities. The 2013 tournament set audience records, with nearly 44,000 fans attending. This record was surpassed six years later at the World Championship in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, which attracted 44,513 spectators.

The group stage will be held at the STAREZ ARENA in Brno, which also hosted the 2021 Junior World Championship, where the Czech team won gold. “Brno is a city of sports, and floorball has a tradition here of over 30 years. The national team has always relied on a warm home atmosphere with amazing fans, which will surely be confirmed at this year's Women’s Championship. I wish our team a lot of success and hope they defend their medal from the previous World Championship,” said Brno Mayor Markéta Vaňková.

The championship will move to Ostrava for the playoffs. The OSTRAVAR ARENA, which hosted the finals in 2013, also welcomed two editions of the floorball superfinal in 2018 and 2019. “We are honored that Ostrava will host the Women's Floorball World Championship for the second time. This prestigious event is not only an opportunity to showcase our city’s hospitality and organizational skills, but also a unique chance for our citizens to experience the atmosphere of world-class sport right on home turf. Our city will become the epicenter of floorball, where the best players in the world will compete for the championship title. This event will undoubtedly be an inspiration for young athletes, who will have the opportunity to see their idols in action,” said Ostrava Mayor Jan Dohnal.
