Feb 06, 2026
The accompanying programme for the New Bazaly!!! The Story of an Architectural Competition exhibition continued yesterday with a discussion featuring René Bolf, captain of Baník's championship team in the 2003/4 season, and goalkeeper Jan Laštůvka from the same squad.

The former key players of Baník Ostrava, drawing on their experiences with the Czech national team, reminisced about the 'old Bazaly' while debating the New Bazaly.

The meeting with these stars, which filled almost all reserved seats, took place in the Hall of the Municipal District Office of Moravská Ostrava and Přívoz, where an exhibition of all architectural designs for the New Bazaly is on display until 15 February 2026. Also on view is the champions' trophy from the Czech top league in the 2003/2004 season—the very one once raised aloft by yesterday's protagonists, René Bolf and Jan Laštůvka. Admission to the exhibition is free, and it is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The exhibition's accompanying programme concludes on Thursday, 12 February 2026. Its finale will be a discussion lecture by a duo of well-known Ostrava journalists for whom football club Baník is a lifelong passion and scholarly pursuit: Tomáš Šiřina and Roman Popel. The co-authors of the iconic publication We Are Baník will begin their lecture at the usual time and place—the Hall of the Municipal District Office of Moravská Ostrava and Přívoz—from 5 p.m.
