The 25th anniversary edition of NATO Days at Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava in Mošnov once again delivered an unforgettable weekend of aviation and ground demonstrations. The event showcased impressive displays of military and rescue technology from 17 countries around the world — both in the air and on the ground.

As always, public interest was immense. Over 150,000 visitors attended the two-day event, filling the airport grounds and enjoying spectacular demonstrations from pilots, soldiers, firefighters, police officers, and rescue teams. New police and firefighting recruits even took their oath of service during the weekend.

Ostrava’s Municipal Police also received special recognition — Mayor Jan Dohnal presented the Operational Unit with the Honorary Ribbon of the Czech Euro-Atlantic Council for its long-standing contribution to the organization of NATO Days and the Czech Air Force Days.

This year’s partner country was Italy, which impressed audiences with the AV-8B Harrier II, famous for its vertical takeoff and landing. Among the biggest highlights was the majestic B-52H Stratofortress bomber of the U.S. Air Force, which performed several breathtaking flyovers.

The event was held alongside the 16th Czech Air Force Days, where the Czech Army presented its ongoing modernization efforts, including the debut appearance of the Leopard 2A4 tank in coordination with the well-known BVP-2 infantry fighting vehicles.
The City of Ostrava once again played a major role as a main partner of NATO Days. Visitors benefited from three secure bicycle parking zones supervised by the municipal police, where more than 5,700 bicycles were safely stored over the weekend. The city also hosted a relaxation zone and provided safety and advisory services through its police officers, who presented their own dynamic demonstrations as part of the program.

As tradition dictates, the festival concluded with the popular Mayor’s Trophy competition, where visitors voted on Facebook for their favorite aerial performance. This year’s trophy and commemorative certificate went to the Turkish Stars, whose precision aerobatic display captivated audiences and earned them the title of crowd favorite.
Congratulations to the Turkish Stars — winners of the 2025 Mayor’s Trophy!
We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
