Exhibition of New Bazaly Architectural Designs Concludes
The exhibition in the Hall of the Municipal District Office of Moravská Ostrava and Přívoz was launched by a vernissage attended by Ostrava’s mayor, Jan Dohnal. Thereafter, anyone interested could visit the hall and immerse themselves in the role and sentiments of a judge in the architectural competition. Each design was described on dedicated panels, which also included numerous visualisations. It was open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

As part of the accompanying programme—divided across four events in January and February—a guided tour of the designs was held, with commentary from Mayor Jan Dohnal, Lukáš Semerák (chairman of the project’s working group), and Jiří Burysz, an architect from the Ostrava City Hall. Another event offered the chance to meet the authors of the winning design, representatives of studio L35 Arquitectos. Travelling to Ostrava were the studio’s executive director and senior partner, Tristán López-Chicheri, along with Guillermo Gus, the lead architect for the New Bazaly project. Early in February, two Baník legends—René Bolf and Jan Laštůvka—joined for a discussion. The programme concluded with a focus on the club history of FC Baník, presented in a discursive lecture by the journalistic-research duo of Tomáš Šiřina and Roman Popek.

Viewed by thousands of Ostravans, the exhibition was not only a glimpse behind the scenes of an architectural competition, spiced with nostalgic memories, but also a promise for 2031, when the New Bazaly stadium is expected to welcome its first visitors.
