Representatives of the architectural firm L35 Arquitectos, whose drawing boards produced the winning design for the Nové Bazaly stadium, visited Ostrava yesterday. The firm's executive director and senior partner, Tristán López-Chicheri, and the lead architect for the New Bazaly project, Guillermo Guso, were received at the New Town Hall, toured Dolní Vítkovice, and served as the principal speakers at an evening debate within a thematic exhibition.

The Spanish guests were welcomed at the New Town Hall by Deputy Mayor Břetislav Riger. Following their meeting, the visitors took in the city views from the tower of the town hall—the tallest such tower of any Czech town hall. After a shared lunch, they proceeded to tour the industrial complex of the Dolní Vítkovice area, which greatly impressed the L35 Arquitectos delegation.

Deputy Mayor Břetislav Riger in Discussion with studio representatives

The highlight of the visit was a public debate featuring both studio representatives, focusing primarily on their design for the Nové Bazaly stadium. Ostrava's mayor, Jan Dohnal, also took part. The discussion formed part of the accompanying programme for the exhibition Nové Bazaly!!! The Story of an Architectural Competition.

Although the debate was conducted in English without Czech translation, it generated considerable interest. Nearly every seat was taken in the hall of the Moravská Ostrava and Přívoz Municipal District Office, where the talk—moderated by Tomáš Čech—was held.

The exhibition's accompanying programme does not end with this event. On 5 February, we invite the public to a "Day with the Legends", featuring active participation from former Baník Ostrava football stalwarts Jan Laštůvka and René Bolf. The venue and time remain traditional: the hall of the Moravská Ostrava and Přívoz Municipal District Office, starting at 5 p.m. Admission is free once again.

Given the limited number of seats, reservations via the booking system are required.
