Competition Jury Reaches Consensus on Final Ranking of Designs for the New Bazaly Stadium

Due to the strict transparency rules governing the competition, the anonymity of the designs and participants must be maintained for the time being. However, the City Council is expected to make its final decision in the early days of November, at which point both the winning design and the other entries will be made public.
“All of the finalist designs were of world-class quality, yet one of them stood out. It was fascinating to see how the architects engaged with the genius loci of Bazaly, successfully combining tradition with a contemporary stadium concept. I am looking forward to presenting the winning design to the public,” said Ostrava’s Mayor, Jan Dohnal.
The architectural competition attracted considerable international interest, with nearly thirty studios from across the globe submitting entries. The Statutory City of Ostrava ultimately invited ten of them to take part. From the nine submissions received, the shortlist was narrowed down to four finalists, from which the winner has now emerged.
