Updated 18.09.2026 11:05 For the seventh time, Ostrava will focus on children's talent and how to nurture and develop it. Talent City 2026 will take place on 14 and 15 October 2026. The first day will offer children and pupils around 90 workshops at various locations across Ostrava, as well as a new feature – the Great Debate. The second day will focus primarily on teachers and other professionals and members of the public involved in supporting children's talent.

His Excellency Håkan Jevrell, Ambassador of Sweden to the Czech Republic, accompanied by his wife Catharina, was received by Ostrava Mayor Jan Dohnal in the City Hall’s representative rooms. The meeting took place in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, with discussions focusing not only on establishing new contacts but also on opportunities to further deepen mutual cooperation.

Updated 02.09.2026 10:42 Ostrava has officially opened a new indoor shooting range complex on Plzeňská Street in the Hulváky district. The project, costing nearly CZK 153 million, has transformed a derelict brownfield into a state-of-the-art centre equipped with cutting-edge technology. It will provide facilities for the training of competitive shooters, host national and international competitions in a range of disciplines, and offer commercial shooting activities to the general public.
