Ostrava has been systematically launching the "Program for the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Monuments and Significant Urban Buildings" since 2009. Through this program, it supports the restoration of monuments as well as significant sacred and architecturally interesting structures in the city.
This year, Ostrava commemorates 100 years since the first charitable collection held at the Christmas Tree of the Republic. The origins of this tradition in Czechoslovakia date back to 1919.
Next Thursday, 29 January, from 5 p.m., a discussion in English with the creators of the winning design for the New Bazaly stadium will take place in the Town Hall Auditorium of the Moravská Ostrava and Přívoz Municipal District Office. Its principal protagonists will be representatives of the winning studio L35 Arquitectos. Admission is free.
