Representing the winning firm will be its executive director and senior partner Tristán López-Chicheri, alongside Guillermo Gus, the lead architect on the New Bazaly project.

Participants will learn the details of how the architectural design emerged—a scheme with ambitions to become both a new urban landmark and an expression of our region's sporting identity. The discussion with the authors of the competition-winning New Bazaly entry will offer a unique glimpse behind the scenes of the entire process—from the initial idea and inspiration drawn from the site, through exploring ties to the club's history, to conceiving the stadium as an open public space for community life.

The authors will present the defining principles of their proposal, explain what sets the concept apart from other competition entries, and address contemporary criteria for stadium architecture: sustainability, multifunctionality, and relationships to the city and its fans. The event will include time for public questions and discussion on how architecture can shape the future of this site of exceptional significance to the Moravian-Silesian metropolis. It is aimed at the general public—Baník fans, veterans, and all those interested in Ostrava's sporting history.

Due to limited seating, advance booking is required via this reservation link. Please note that the discussion will be conducted in English.
