Through the Korean television camera
On Thursday, 11 December 2014, Ostrava welcomed South Korean filmmakers who came to our region to gather material for a documentary. The documentary, which is to be broadcast at the beginning of next year on KBS, the Korean state television, focuses on successful South Korean companies with operations in foreign markets.
The automaker Hyundai in Nošovice was one of the companies the team of filmmakers visited on their way around the world. It rightfully deserves to be among the companies the filmmakers focus on, not only because it is the biggest employer in the Moravian-Silesian region (employing around 3,300 persons), but also because its subsidiary, Hyundai Mobis, will build a new plant, creating an additional 900 jobs.
After filming in Nošovice, the filmmakers visited Ostrava, where they were received by the representatives of the Department of Economic Development of the Ostrava City Authority. They went up the City Hall tower and took shots of the city from the top, listening to a brief history of the city in their native language, which was presented to them by Mr Eui-Sung Kang, a South Korean intern working at the Department, who is responsible for communicating with Asian partners.
